About Me

Hi! I'm Ash, a HAES aligned dietitian, fiercely committed to providing weight-inclusive and neurodiversity affirming care to all of my patients. My pronouns are she/her and I am late diagnosed AuDHD (autism + ADHD), currently in remission from an eating disorder. My lived experience with AuDHD and eating disorders has deeply influenced my work in the nutrition field and my desire to provide evidenced-based, patient centered care to heal our community.

Weight discrimination and ableism limit a significant portion of the population from receiving equitable health care. A weight-inclusive & neurodiversity-affirming environment allows individuals of all sizes and neuro-types the freedom to be their most authentic selves while exploring ways to grow their relationship with food and body.

Utilizing evidenced based education and motivational interviewing, my nutrition counseling style guides patients towards sustainable health behavior changes to help them build a foundation for lifelong connection with food and body.

In 2023 I began training in neuro-affirming care through RDs for Neurodiversity.

Research

Eating Disorder and Weight Bias research has been a cornerstone of my education and training. I have been extremely privileged to work under Dr. Kendrin Sonneville at the University of Michigan since 2019. During my time in her lab, I have worked as a research assistant, project coordinator, and co-authored published research.
